Matsui is the own brand (or rebrand) used by the DSG International group, a leading European specialist electrical retailer. The brand was introduced in the UK in the 1980s and sold through Dixons and Currys stores. Also part of DSG International is the internet site Pixmania.

Being an "unbranded" brand Matsui has always had a cheap price point and was not always built to the same build quality as popular brands, recently DSG group have been using the Kenwood Badge for new appliances to distance the old reputation for their products.
